March Meta Matters Challenge, Check-in 4
Hello everyone! It's check-in time again to see how we're all getting along with our meta importing.
Comment below with any of the following:
1) How many works have you identified for future transfers, or have you now moved to AO3?
2) Are you having any problems moving your meta?
3) Did you write new meta based on the last post's prompt? Share it here! Or if you didn't, share a link(s) to a work that's now housed on AO3 that you'd like to get more eyes on.
Please don't hesitate to do self-promotion! Anyone participating in or following this challenge is doing so because meta interests them. So it's very likely someone would like to check out those works.

I wrote a new meta post last weekend, which served as the first of 3 chapters over on AO3 that grouped together some fan video discussion from two years worth of posts. I have also now moved 4 concert reviews over there, three of which I'd never posted here. In fact, I have about 10 other music fandom files that were never shared here that I plan to move there. This is because my first one got excited comments the same day they went up with requests for more such posts!
I really wasn't expecting that, so it's certainly incentive to get the rest somewhere else besides my hard drive. So I'll probably be working on that for at least the next week or so.
So here's my link to share: Fan Videos as Canon Commentary (Mostly related to the Buffyverse)

2) The only problem I'm having is not enough hours in the day to get to the formatting or the choosing of related posts that go together.

Now that is organization!
And I hear you about the amount of time taken. I'm pleased with the stuff I've completed but I'm taking longer to work on things than I expected. I expected at least a post a day as well and it's definitely not going to work out that way.

I've rewritten or updated a couple of works to reference Season 12 of Doctor Who: The problem with special protagonists and The nature of rivalry.

I had a lot more demands on my time last week but fortunately this week is allowing me to get some more done. But hey, every post is one post more than before!

And I think I'll have more time next week!

Half of what I tried to import got an error message of "this work has already been imported." They hadn't. Sent off a note to tech support and imported those manually.
For the Livejournal entries, it tried to import the comments rather than the work itself, which it skipped past, apparently thinking that was the header. (Had to view source code and grab the appropriate parts to import as the main body text.)
AO3 apparently won't show lines on tables, at least not in the standard skin. Dammit.
Bracing for importing a long string of Tumblr posts as chapters.

I suppose it's trying to grab the entire page for every chapter and it chokes on that. Dammit.

Open post in separate page; get title & date. Put those in the page for "add chapter" on AO3. Go back to Tumblr post; click "view source." Page-Down 7 times to get to the actual post contents. Copy that into the chapter section on AO3. Preview; adjust as needed; post.
Click "add chapter," repeat.
Homestuck Liveblogging from Act 1.
It's showing as a WIP, 33/34 chapters, although it has all 34 chapters.
