Haha, yes. I took me two tries to watch the series because I've loved the Arthurian legends for a long time and it seemed a travesty to me. And secondarily while I could go along with some of the changes, it wasn't well written and was just an awful show for female characters.
It was actually a fan vid and a steampunk Merlin fanfic that convinced me to give it another try. Writing aside there were some beautiful scenes in the show, and I realized it was full of possibilities, even if the canon itself was wanting.
