yourlibrarian: MMMC Icon Yellow (OTH-MMMC Icon Yellow - yourlibrarian)
[personal profile] yourlibrarian posting in [community profile] marchmetamatterschallenge
Hello everyone! It's check-in time again to see how we're all getting along with our meta importing.

Comment below with any of the following:

1) Do you feel you're making the progress you wanted to with preserving your work?

2) Did you write new meta based on the last post's prompt? Share it here! Or if you didn't, share a link(s) to a work that's been recently imported that you'd like to get more eyes on.

And if you've been lurking, remember that you can join in to this challenge at any point during the month. The important part is getting started!

Additionally, osteophage created an icon for the MMMC community. "Folks are welcome to use it for themselves when making MMMC posts on sites with multiple icon sets, too."

Thanks for sharing my icon!

1) Yes, I've gotten through my list of works that I planned to archive this month. I also decided to roll the dice on posting Reading a Moral Panic on both SQW and AO3. So far, no complaints. I hope I made the relevance apparent enough in the work summary and by tagging D&D as a fandom, even if D&D is just one part of the puzzle. I thought about tagging "Rock Music" or "Metal" as a fandom too, but... whole music genres (as contrasted with specific bands) don't really seem to fit with AO3's organization system.

No big deal. Unfortunately I don't know of another PF setting for that. The comm moderation tools there are a bit underdeveloped... something they'll hopefully get to revisit someday, after the premium features are out.

I am avoiding rewatching ML 4x16 same as I was ML 4x06, and I do not know why

Oops no, I still haven't made a Squidgeworld account but this is a good reminder.

These weren't directly related to the prompts, but I wrote meta about Max Evans being the anti-hero in s1 of Roswell New Mexico and then I wrote meta about Kyle Valenti during a specific scene in Roswell New Mexico.

I also made a post about meta that was posted by osteophage and yourlibrarian, and it's been fun to talk to others about their meta thoughts.

Some, but not as much as I'd like.

I'm less far along with the new meta. I'll be lucky to get any of the main body posted. I'm still trying to finish the last fishbowl poem.

I am making progress, although most of it is happening "behind the scenes", so to speak, as I continue to go through my old posts and revise and expand. This doesn't necessarily translate into finishing anything recently, but I'm okay with that because I feel like I'm in control of the process enough not to have to rush through it. But it's nice to have a plan, even if I won't be able to do more than a small part of it by the end of the month.

TLDR Details

The March Meta Matters Challenge is focused on not just new meta, but making sure older meta gets a chance to be read and remain a part of fandom history. Join us in March to start archiving your work!
