Hello everyone! It's check-in time again to see how we're all getting along with our meta importing.
Comment below with any of the following:
1) Do you feel you're making the progress you wanted to with preserving your work?
2) Did you write new meta based on the last post's prompt? Share it here! Or if you didn't, share a link(s) to a work that's been recently imported that you'd like to get more eyes on.
And if you've been lurking, remember that you can join in to this challenge at any point during the month. The important part is getting started!
Additionally, osteophage created an icon for the MMMC community. "Folks are welcome to use it for themselves when making MMMC posts on sites with multiple icon sets, too."

Date: 2023-03-22 06:11 pm (UTC)On the "no" side, even my reduced plan of getting all 2019 content archived is going to be a push. I've only just completed up until May and it seemed I posted every other day then and in June. I almost never write that much! With just over a week to go I'm going to have to stay on task to tick off that goal.
2) Well yes, I wrote new meta but no, not based on the prompt. And since that's not up yet (wanted to give it a day or so of review before posting) I'll go ahead and link to this recently imported one: The Entry Point Character https://squidgeworld.org/works/39027 It's not one of my better discussions but I do find the topic of interest and wonder what other people's experiences are.

Date: 2023-03-22 06:16 pm (UTC)1) Yes, I've gotten through my list of works that I planned to archive this month. I also decided to roll the dice on posting Reading a Moral Panic on both SQW and AO3. So far, no complaints. I hope I made the relevance apparent enough in the work summary and by tagging D&D as a fandom, even if D&D is just one part of the puzzle. I thought about tagging "Rock Music" or "Metal" as a fandom too, but... whole music genres (as contrasted with specific bands) don't really seem to fit with AO3's organization system.

Date: 2023-03-22 06:23 pm (UTC)(BTW apologies for not getting the post out of moderation earlier. Here at DW we get notifications if something's in a queue but there was nothing from PF! Turns out there was another post way older than yours sitting there too. Is there a setting there I didn't ticky?)
Yeah especially at AO3 the site is just too large for those sort of broad categories, even if they're the most applicable for a post. I know I've been more successful in getting those canonized at SQW, though I believe just this week I found out they don't have one for Movies.

Date: 2023-03-23 05:04 am (UTC)These weren't directly related to the prompts, but I wrote meta about Max Evans being the anti-hero in s1 of Roswell New Mexico and then I wrote meta about Kyle Valenti during a specific scene in Roswell New Mexico.
I also made a post about meta that was posted by osteophage and yourlibrarian, and it's been fun to talk to others about their meta thoughts.

Date: 2023-03-23 10:25 am (UTC)Some, but not as much as I'd like.
I'm less far along with the new meta. I'll be lucky to get any of the main body posted. I'm still trying to finish the last fishbowl poem.

Date: 2023-03-23 07:27 pm (UTC)I am making progress, although most of it is happening "behind the scenes", so to speak, as I continue to go through my old posts and revise and expand. This doesn't necessarily translate into finishing anything recently, but I'm okay with that because I feel like I'm in control of the process enough not to have to rush through it. But it's nice to have a plan, even if I won't be able to do more than a small part of it by the end of the month.

Date: 2023-03-23 07:37 pm (UTC)One thing I'm currently patching together is new posts of work I had previously posted to AO3. Almost all of that got transferred over to SquidgeWorld in December. However what I'd call the "anthologies" of TV and movie reviews had not. So during this session I found myself reposting one of the movie ones, and I started a second one in the series as I came across new reviews. I'll probably go ahead and repost the missing third one in the series during this session too so that the previous work is up to date.
The TV one is more complicated, because they're ongoing and I might review different episodes or seasons across a number of years but I can't just keep endless open drafts. So I started Short Takes with the more recent TV reviews and am reaching back to the original posts for earlier commentary. I'll probably eventually repost all of those as well.
